What are you going to do?

The business unit Regulatory Services offers industry and authorities the expertise needed to guarantee the safety of industrial chemicals, biocides and plant protection products for humans and the environment.

To strengthen the business unit, we are looking for an enthusiastic colleague for assessing risks (hazards and exposure) of chemicals, biocides and plant protection products.

Your tasks

  • Advise customers on registration strategy for their chemicals, biocides and plant protection products.
  • Build on customer relationships and write project proposals together with project managers.
  • Anticipate to regulatory changes in REACH, BPR and PPPR.
  • Write expert statements on human health related topics.
  • Literature search and processing of data.
  • Compile (parts of) dossiers within the scope of REACH, BPR and PPPR.
  • Hazard assessment (classification and labelling, DNEL derivation) with regard to human toxicology.
  • Explore and evaluate opportunities for read-across strategies.
  • Perform toxico-kinetics assessments.
  • Perform exposure assessments by using human exposure models.
  • Contribute to socio-economic assessments and / or assessments of alternatives.
  • Review work performed by junior colleagues.
  • Report results to colleagues and customers.

What do we ask?

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the field of human toxicology and the European chemical regulations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with tools required for REACH and Biocides or plant protection products dossier preparation and risk assessment (e.g. IUCLID, Chesar, QSAR and others).
  • Accurate, proactive and problem-solving.
  • Expertise in human exposure assessment would be highly appreciated.
  • Comfortable working under time pressure related to regulatory. deadlines.
  • Positive, energetic attitude and able to inspire (junior) teammates as well as to work independently.
  • Good written and oral expression skills in the English language, and preferably also in Dutch.
  • Extensive experience in data analysis with Microsoft office and Excel spreadsheets and formulas (including VBA) is a pro.
