Wat ga je doen?

As a mechanical manufacturing engineer you will be responsible for maintaining and improving process performance objectives as well as resolving technical issues. You will also hold the responsibility for assigned manufacturing processes and deliver improvements in quality, reliability, cost, cycle time and capacity while maintaining a high level of performance.

Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Take on ownership to study and optimize manufacturing processes resulting in an improvement of process performance. Improvements may include process capability and performance , measurement capability improvement, tooling design, prototyping, flow improvement, ergonomics, process controls, reduced human dependency.
  • Measure and report process performance and drive improvements with product leaders, manufacturing cells and process technicians.
  • Apply problem-solving principals and statistical analysis to effectively resolve process, part/component and product related problems which require an evaluation.
  • Exercise technical judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting process development and qualification strategies and rationales.
  • Take on the responsibility for the analysis and disposition of process related defects. Apply effective corrective actions to eliminate the root cause of the issues detected. Coordinate specialized analysis until resolution. Document technical studies, experiments and tests.
  • Work on specific project deliverables within a technical project team.
  • Apply project management methodology to deliver on scrap reduction targets, equipment installation, introduction of new products and implementation of design/specification changes in assigned manufacturing processes. Coordinate / perform the qualification runs and Engineering jobs with the Manufacturing cells.
  • Take the responsibility for the technical content of the operator, technician trainings.
  • Be the process specialist on site for the assigned processes, and backup of peer engineers.
  • Acquire the base knowledge on new processes prior to implementation in manufacturing.

Education/Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience (more is also fine!)
  • Experience within manufacturing/production environment of small electrical parts and automation processes
  • Previous experience within the medical device domain

Abilities:

  • Proficient in IQ / OQ / PQ process
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement
  • Proficient in Minitab
  • Preferably project management skills
  • Practical experience in lean manufacturing methods
  • Proficient in problem solving
  • Change management experience in implementing design/specification changes into manufacturing processes
  • Pragmatic, pro-active and entrepreneurial with the ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work in compliance with a quality system, preferably ISO13485
